Overview

The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G succeeds the Galaxy A55 5G. It features a expanded 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen display. It supports Nano-SIM and eSIM configurations (Single SIM or Dual SIM/eSIM stand-by). The device ships running Android 15 alongside Samsung’s Exynos 1580 (4 nm) processor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and USB Type-C 2.0, boosted by high-speed 5G network coverage. The phone houses a triple-camera module on the rear side and a single punch-hole selfie camera on the front. It is powered by a 5000mAh battery with upgraded 45W fast charging and is available in Pink, Olive, Graphite, and Lightgray colors.

Display

The 6.7-inch display utilizes Super AMOLED technology, featuring a 1080 x 2340 pixel resolution (~385 ppi density) with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Reaching up to 1900 nits peak brightness, the panel remains bright and legible even under direct sunlight. Built-in automatic brightness and dark mode automatically tailor contrast and white fonts against dark backgrounds to reduce eye strain in low-light environments. Protection is provided by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on the front, alongside an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance (up to 1 meter for 30 minutes).

Design

The Galaxy A56 5G measures 162.2 x 77.5 x 7.4 mm and weighs 198 grams. It features a glass front and glass back (both made of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+) held together by an aluminum frame. Underneath the lower portion of the screen sits an optical in-display fingerprint sensor. The volume rocker and power button are located on the right side of the frame, while the SIM tray is positioned along the top. A clean punch-hole design at the top center of the display houses the front-facing Infinity-O selfie camera. The rear side holds a sleek vertical triple-camera layout with an LED flash. The bottom edge houses the speaker grille, primary microphone, and USB Type-C port. (Note: This model does not include a 3.5mm audio jack.)

Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A56 5G carries a triple-camera setup on the rear:

• Main Camera: 50 MP, f/1.8 (wide), 1/1.56", 1.0µm, PDAF, and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).

• Ultra-Wide Camera: 12 MP, f/2.2, 123˚ field of view.

• Macro Camera: 5 MP, f/2.4.

With LED flash, panorama, HDR, and AI image enhancements, you can capture clear images in various lighting conditions. Video recording supports 4K @ 30fps and 1080p @ 30/60fps with gyro-EIS stabilization.

The front camera is an upgraded 12 MP, f/2.2 (wide) sensor capable of shooting sharp selfies and recording 4K @ 30fps or 1080p @ 30/60fps video with 10-bit HDR support.

Performance

The Galaxy A56 5G comes pre-installed with Android 15 (with One UI) and promises up to 6 major Android upgrades. Under the hood, it is powered by the Exynos 1580 (4 nm) octa-core chipset (1x 2.9 GHz Cortex-A720, 3x 2.6 GHz Cortex-A720, and 4x 1.9 GHz Cortex-A520). Graphics are handled by the Xclipse 540 GPU (co-developed with AMD), delivering high performance for heavy gaming and multitasking without lag. Coupled with fast 5G connectivity and generous memory configurations, online gaming and app performance run smoothly.

Data Security

Data protection is handled by an optical under-display fingerprint scanner. Additional standard Android security options are included (PIN, pattern, and password), alongside fast 2D facial recognition powered by the front camera.

(Note: Unlike older models, the Galaxy A56 5G does not feature a microSD card slot for expandable storage.)

Battery

The phone features a non-removable 5000 mAh Li-Po battery designed to last all day. Upgraded from previous generations, it now supports 45W Super Fast Wired Charging—reaching around 65% in 30 minutes and full charge in just under 70 minutes.
